Bridal Jewellery Trends for the Perfect Wedding

From: 13th August 2021

For the last 18 months weddings have been cancelled, postponed or rearranged not once but numerous times and so now restrictions have been lifted – it’s time to celebrate in style, enjoy the moment, look to the future and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Every bride wants their own special and unique wedding day whether it is a small intimate affair, on a wonderful beach in the sunshine or a full on all guns blazing wedding and party. And the theme and style of the wedding can be as individual as each bride. The wedding dress is the main event of the day (as well as the Groom obviously!) but once you have the dress, you need to think about the jewellery accessories you need to complete your look.

We have put together a guide to the current trends and styles for bridal jewellery and I am sure that one of them will be perfect for your special day. All our jewellery is handmade and designed in 925 sterling silver with many of our pieces set with AAA* quality cubic zirconia stones which sparkle and twinkle just like fine diamonds. Our jewellery makes the perfect alternative to fine jewellery with the same style, quality and longevity as real gems but at an affordable price.

Vintage Family Heirlooms

The vintage look has never been out of fashion and is particularly popular as a theme for weddings. There is nothing more beautiful than the timeless and ageless style of vintage jewellery as the past continues to influence current fashion and trends. So, whether you choose a Victorian inspired look or Art Deco is more you style – we have the perfect silver jewellery to compliment your dress and theme.

Maybe you could combine a precious family heirloom with some of our vintage style jewellery to create your very own eclectic and individual vintage look without having to spend a fortune. Maybe your grandmother’s much treasured ring with one of our silver and cubic zirconia bracelets or your mum’s drop earrings with our silver pendant or necklace. It is wonderful to include family treasures into your look, recognising the importance and influence of loved ones on this most special of days.

The Victorian era is a perfect theme for a wedding as jewellery from that time is romantic and nature inspired. Motifs like hearts, leaves and flowers were common and we have  many Victorian style jewellery pieces perfect for the bride, but one of my favourites is our Floral Drop Earrings which are just so pretty.

During the late Victorian period, jewellery was more lavish, with ornate diamond cluster designs. Take a look at this vintage silver and cubic zirconia Waterfall Necklace if you want to re-create the glamour of this era.  Perfect worn with a sweetheart neckline wedding dress.

If you are after a more edgy but still classic vintage style, then the Art Deco era famed for its jazz music, cocktail parties and high fashion is perfect for you. Art Deco jewellery remains evermore desirable with geometric shapes and diamonds and gems set in minimalist lines. The designs are effortlessly classic, yet still feel modern. Diamonds were used lavishly but styled into strict geometric patterns. These Deco Drama Drop Earrings capture the style and feel perfectly.

Square and rectangular diamonds with princess and baguette cuts were now more popular than round or oval stones. Our Art Deco Silver and Cubic Zirconia Bracelet is a perfect replica.

Statement Drop Earrings

Drop earrings are a key accessory for the bride as many wear their hair up or pinned back so bare earlobes just wouldn’t do. Your wedding day is the perfect excuse to make a statement with wonderful drop earrings which look like they should belong on the red carpet. For maximum impact we love our Long Cubic Zirconia Drop Earrings designed with a single silver strand micro-set with sparkling cubic zirconia solitaires which move as you do.

You can pair your eye-catching drop earrings with a matching silver necklace or pendant to complete the full showstopping look or maybe go for something a little less dramatic at your neckline so all the focus is on the earrings. (and your face of course!)

The Choker Necklace

The choker necklace which sits close to you throat, is the perfect choice for brides who are going for a chic wedding look. They look beautiful with any style of dress and really are the ultimate jewellery accessory. Choose our wonderful Graduated Cubic Zirconia and Silver Necklace which sparkles and glitters as it catches the light. Lovely worn with long drop earrings, simple little cubic zirconia studs or anything in between. Maybe have crystals studded through your hair or a sparkling tiara for the finishing touch.

Sophisticated Silver Earring Climbers

If you are struggling to decide which earrings go best with your dress – then elegant and stylish silver climber earrings might be the perfect solution. They make a beautiful addition to any bridal outfit whether you are going for the full princess look, a tailored bridal suit or boho beach style. Earring climbers stylishly trace your ears to add that final touch of elegance. Our ornate Tribute Climber Earrings would be a great choice.

Elegant Bracelet Designs

The addition of an elegant and delicate bracelet can add just the right amount of sparkle to your bridal look. They look especially beautiful worn with short sleeve or sleeveless dresses where you can really see their beauty. Maybe choose a classic silver and cubic zirconia Tennis Bracelet or if you prefer the more dramatic and eye catching look (which would be wonderful standing out against a simple, elegant dress) then our Retro Silver Bracelet would look stunning. Just one thing to remember – wear it on your right wrist so it doesn’t detract from your new wedding ring!

Something Blue

Many brides want to follow the traditional rhyme of ‘something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue’. Traditionally, garters were the first choice for adding blue into the bride’s wardrobe as a means of repelling the long-feared gaze of the “Evil Eye,” which was believed to bring bad luck to the bride. In 2021 however, brides are choosing jewellery as their ‘something blue’. Real sapphires might be a little out of the budget considering all the other wedding costs – so why not choose from our beautiful collection of sapphire blue cubic zirconia and silver jewellery. Our vintage aquamarine cubic zirconia drop earrings or Sky at Night Silver Pendant would add the perfect touch of lucky colour to your day.

Emerald Green Jewellery

Emerald green is one of the most popular colour trends in jewellery this year and this has influenced bridal jewellery choices too. For modern brides who want to add a splash of bold colour to their look – maybe to match with their bridesmaids’ dresses and colour theme, then the beautiful rich emerald green is a great choice. The colour perfectly complements lace or maybe velvet or satin ivory. Choose intricate and beautifully detailed jewellery – maybe our matching emerald cubic zirconia Beauty necklace and earrings which bring a fusion of white sparkle and green crystal to the day.

Rose Gold Jewellery

If silver is not quite the right colour for you and you prefer the warm tones of rose gold, then the bridal trend for rose gold jewellery is just right for you.

Our rose gold jewellery collection has many designs perfect for a bride from our Hoopla Earrings to Loops & Hoops Pendant. All our pieces are handmade in sterling silver and plated with 18 carat rose gold making them an affordable alternative to solid rose gold jewellery. Rose gold jewellery goes particularly well with cream and ivory wedding dresses.

Jewellery for Bridesmaids

All our focus so far has been on the bride and the perfect wedding jewellery for her; however, we mustn’t forget the bridesmaids who are also such an important part of the day. Bridesmaids generally wear colour which matches the wedding theme and the flowers. This can be anything from pale pink to deep emerald green. We have the perfect jewellery no matter what colour your bridesmaids are wearing. Choose from pretty and elegant jewellery designs in sterling silver and set with coloured cubic zirconia – colours range from, aquamarine, pink diamond, sapphire blue and emerald green. Most of them have matching pendants and earrings to complete the look.

Not only will your bridesmaids look wonderful on the day, but jewellery is also the perfect thank you gift for your bridesmaids and something they can treasure for ever as a reminder of a special day.

After all the wedding disappointments over the last months, 2021 is predicted to be the year of extravagant weddings! But whatever your style and however you plan to celebrate your big day, make sure you feel happy and confident in what you wear, dress to please yourself, don’t worry too much and make sure you have a truly fabulous and memorable day.
