Titanic's cubic zirconia necklace shown off at exhibition

Titanic fans have recently being able to get their hands on a piece of sparkling film history.

The BBC reported that the Heart of the Ocean necklace, which features a blue cubic zirconia and 130 crystals, was recently on show at a Southampton convention.

Featured at the Titanic exhibition in the Bargate Centre, visitors were able to try on the £8,000 heart-shaped prop, which actress Kate Winslet wore in the blockbuster film Titanic.

Also at the event, over 300 personal items from the ill-fated voyage were on show, including a pocket watch which stopped as it entered the freezing water at 2:28am.

Those interested in the Titanic could also see a recently discovered Port of Southampton ledger, which shows entries from the White Star Liner.

The cubic zirconia necklace was also worn by Celine Dion at the 1998 Academy Awards ceremony as she sang the movie's theme song My Heart Will Go On.
