The sentimental value that silver brooches and other forms of jewellery can have for the buyer's children is huge, a commentator has claimed.
Lori Gallagher, writer at the Daily Gleaner, has highlighted the deeply meaningful relationship she felt with those items belonging to her mother.
She said that the jewellery "was magical to me", inspiring dreams of the future in her young self.
Revisiting her mother's jewellery box recently, she said that the silver bracelets in it allowed her to rediscover the experiences and memories of her relative.
Ms Gallagher said: "I used to go through these items, sure that one day, when I was all grown up, I would get to go places that required the wearing of perfume, long silky gloves and sparkly jewels."
Natalia Colman, personal stylist at Stylespecialists.co.uk, recently claimed that a new generation are turning to silver bracelets as a way to be adventurous and to contrast different styles.
