Perfect silver rings 'are chosen by the man'

Thoughtfulness and surprise are the most important factors when choosing from silver rings for an engagement present, according to an expert.

Peter Vidovic from online forum for brides-to-be Finalstitch.co.uk, said that men who are considering proposing to their partners should not be too nervous as the majority of women want a ring chosen by their fiancé.

"Most brides-to-be thought it really didn't matter how it looked as it was special when it had been chosen by their fiancé. Some brides had chosen to have a 'bridal set' which included an engagement ring and wedding band to ensure that their two rings would complement, as well as fit together," he added.

Mr Vidovic went on to say that money was not mentioned as being a key factor in choosing an engagement ring, with one bride on the forums admitting that her band cost barely anything.

According to Wedding Ideas, 19 per cent of couples become engaged one to two years after meeting.
