People 'love wearing' long chains and silver necklaces

A celebrity jewellery expert has claimed that long, dangling necklaces will form part of this summer's accessory trend.

Neil Lane told The Boston Globe that he expects to see women mixing chains with big, bold bracelets.

He also said that these bracelets will be stacked, featuring different metals and colours to produce a "gyspy-like" look.

Referring to presents for mothers and loved ones, Mr Lane advised that anything sentimental should go down well, such as necklaces with hearts or lockets.

"I think you should have a collection of jewellery that really suits your personality. I think people should have jewellery which they actually love. They can wear that bracelet, ring, those earrings all the time and then they can wear their special jewels for the evening," he added.

Tara Wickwire, a spokesperson and trend expert for Banana Republic, stated that layering and stacking silver bracelets was the latest trend in jewellery.
