June Birthstone Jewellery

From the 15th to the 20th centuries, agate and cat’s eye were recognised as the birthstones for the month of June.

Modern lists of birthstones have little linking them to traditional lists, as they have become confused in translation or adapted to more modern tastes. The 2012 listing for the month of June states pearl and moonstone as the birthstone but it really is up to the wearer which they prefer.

Who comes with summer to this earth,
And owes to June her hour of birth,
With ring of agate on her hand
