A piece of amethyst jewellery is sure to gain a lot of attention soon, when it is put up for auction.
Taking place on November 30th at Sotheby's the Duchess of Windsor will sell 20 pieces made for Wallis Simpson during her affair with Edward VIII.
One item, which features an amethyst jewellery encrusted Latin cross, which hangs from a diamond charm bracelet, is sure to steal the show.
The sale contains a number of important pieces, which shines a light on one of the most trawled-over love affairs in the last century, according to the Guardian.
"By far the most personal item is the diamond bracelet with its nine jewelled Latin crosses. Each represents a special moment of the duke and duchess's relationship so there is the marriage cross in sapphire, emerald and diamond," said the news source.
Recently, singer Cheryl Cole was reported to have given away jewellery items following rumours that she was splitting up with her husband Ashley.
