Correct silver necklaces 'can finish off an outfit'

Finishing off an outfit with a silver necklace can complete a look and make that person stand out, according to an industry expert.

Fan Yuanyuan, customer relations manager for Fanghua Pearls in Beijing, said that the right choice of jewellery can "polish your whole dress".

However, he warned that the wrong accessory can spoil the whole thing, making a person look awkward.

He told Lifestyle that the necklace is the most important item, but those adorned with too many jewels can often cause visual confusion and distraction.

The colour of the necklace should also be in tune with that of the dress, as should any earrings or rings, according to Mr Yuanyuan.

"Two or three accessories are sufficient, unless you've got a particularly luxurious item to wear, in which case only sport the one," he added.

Recently, a host of beauties showed off their silver earring collections at a charity ball for Aids research, with Kate Beckinsdale suffering a wardrobe malfunction when one of her ear decorations slipped down her dress into her cleavage.
