Choosing from silver rings is all part of proposal process

Men who are planning on surprising their girlfriend by getting down on one knee and proposing this year need to spend time choosing from a selection of silver rings, according to an industry expert.

Steve Busfield, writing for the life & style section of the Guardian, said that while the wedding process is mainly dominated by the woman, a man can still play a large role, including picking out silver rings.

"I am constantly amazed by the number of people who reveal that the decision was made during a casual shall-we-get-hitched conversation in the kitchen. Surely it deserves something more romantic than that?" he commented.

Referring to the choice of silver ring, Mr Busfield stated that this very much depends on the wife-to-be, and whether she is "high maintenance".

Elizabeth Robichaux Brown, recently told the Canadian Press that there could now be a trend for exchanging wedding and engagement rings as people progress through life.
