Cannes Film Festival shows off minimal silver bracelets

A host of fashionable beauties showed that less really is more on the red carpet in Cannes recently, with simple silver bracelets and minimalistic jewellery being one of the trends.

James Knowles, writing for Retail-Jeweller, said that the 63rd annual Cannes Film Festival showed that wearing less accessories is currently in favour.

He went on to say that actress Cate Blanchett opted for a simple bracelet, while Chinese star Fan Bing Bing chose to simply wear a pair of earrings.

"Statement necklaces were few and far between. Instead, heavily jewelled bracelets, cuffs and multiple bangles adorned slender wrists. Many matched their ear and wrist wear, best seen on Cheryl Cole with her boule diamond bracelet and earrings ensemble," added Alice Leeburn, senior editor for popular culture at WGSN.

Reporting on the event, Look Magazine said that Cheryl Cole "stunned" in her Versace dress on the Cannes red carpet earlier this month.
