Items such as amethyst jewellery remain one of the most prized possessions which a woman can have, according to an industry expert.
Farah Khan, a jewellery expert speaking to Metrolife, said that jewellery always outlives its wearer and has so many memories and sentiments attached to it.
She added that items including amethyst jewellery can have an inherent value which makes it so unique.
"My inspirations come from everywhere. I tend to convert everything I see into a piece of jewellery. It can be anything, from a dancer to a man rowing a boat. I am also inspired a lot by man-made architecture, textures and shapes," she told the news source.
Ms Khan went on to say that her current collection, which features emerald, ruby, sapphire and amethyst, is inspired by the colour palette of cocktails.
Earlier this month, the Singapore International Jewellery Show 2010 was praised for showing off amethyst jewellery items.
