The recent Singapore International Jewellery Show highlighted the importance of how amethyst jewellery is playing its part in a new fashion trend.
Lynette Koh, writing for TodayOnline.com, said that the four-day event hosted over 180 exhibitors from more than 21 countries, who were all wanting to show off their amethyst jewellery ranges.
The theme for the 2010 show was "Glam's Back!", and one firm has created four different takes on glamour.
"A standout piece: Glam Chic, an elaborate multiple-strand draped neckpiece bringing together round diamonds, amethyst and pink quartz," she added.
Statement jewellery was also shown off by a number of other oriental brands, including Soo Kee Jewellery, which has created a number of designs taking on the glam trend.
Recently, the Australia said that people should look to invest in semi-precious stones in "punchy colours", including lazuli, malachite, turquoise and amethyst, which all look good when used with chunky hand-crafted items.
